Hambleton’s high tech Neighbourhood Watches

As a result of Hambleton Community Safety Partnership working closely with North Yorkshire Police, Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the Hambleton area are now in possession of Auto-dialler Burglar Alarms, which they can loan to their members to given them peace of mind whilst their property is temporarily unoccupied. The scheme was brought about as a result of partnership working by PC Mark Roberts of North Yorkshire Police and Val Dodsworth, Partnership Community Safety Officer who recognised that the fear of crime is an issue that can be addressed by Neighbourhood Watch. These alarms can tackle this problem and at the same time give the participating Watch the ability to generate a small amount of income to enable them.

Neighbourhood Watch Needs You!!

Do you want to make your street a safer place to live?
Do you want to receive a reduced rate on your house insurance?
Do you want to receive information on current crime trends, suspicious vehicles/persons/incidents and requests for information in relation to specific incidents/crimes? You may also receive information from the partnership via the ringmaster as well as notification of meetings and events

If yes why not become a Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator and set up a scheme in your street. There is no minimum number of houses to look after in fact the average is about 20. All you have to do is keep an up to date list of people in your scheme and pass on any relevant messages or information. If you want to get further involved it is up to you.
