The Hub at Hutton Rudby is part of the thriving Methodist Church there.
Opening daily for at least a few hours, the Hub provides Zac’s Coffee House (for a wide range of beverages and home-made snacks at reasonable prices) and a range of free activities for passing visitors and local folk including internet cafe and at-cost printing, free book exchange, play zone for toddlers, computer coaching lessons for beginners, knitting and crafts, film club and board games (some seasonal). It is a volunteer-run initiative, however we do need a single appointee to ensure the day to day management of the Project, including continuity of service and legal compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, requisitioning and all the assorted demands of running a small business. After one year of successful ‘start-up’ with systems now in place, the existing Manager is about to vacate the post in May 2016, so we are seeking applications from interested candidates with relevant experience to take us forward. Ideally you are an excellent communicator, with good people and management skills, experience of handling cash sales and of operating in a service industry – possibly in the voluntary sector or in comparable project work where recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers is as demanding as running the business generally.
We would expect that you are sympathetic to the ethos of the Christian Church.
