PLANNING APPLICATIONS GRANTED/REFUSED
These were noted.

MATTERS FOR DISCUSSION
a) Village Pond. After many hours of work, the pond was cleared of all the surface weed and was looking a great deal better. It was agreed that in 2016, the Parish Council would be more proactive to ensure that if any sign of recurrence was noted, this would be dealt with immediately.
b) Update on Village Maintenance. The sign gardens on Tanton Road, Hilton Road and adjacent to the pond have now been renewed with brick structures and replanted. It was suggested that the two barrels by the Village Hall and the one by the Methodist Church should also be replaced by brick structures. As the bricklayer was still working in the village, he would be approached in order to do the work. It was also noted that a brick wall had been erected at the bottom of Leconfield as a potential long-term replacement for the barrel outside the blacksmiths.
c) The Community Fund. The Community Fund Steering Committee had not met for over and year and an application had been received from the Village Hall Committee, in order to help with further refurbishment of the Hall. The Chairman is to organise a meeting of the Steering Committee as soon as possible.
d) HDC Planning Structure. It was noted that a new local plan for Hambleton was in the process of being developed and consultation meetings are to be held in the market towns in the new year. It was also noted that Hambleton District Council would be in a stronger position to deflect speculative building applications by having this plan in place.
