SEAMER JUMBLE SALE

SEAMER JUMBLE SALE

The Jumble Sale held on Saturday was a great success raising £438.36p so far, for the Village Hall funds.

There was a long queue of people waiting for the doors to open at 2pm and the hall was soon packed out with everyone wanting a bargain. Maybe this was due to Jo being on Radio Tees just after 9am promoting it.

The hall was full of items to sell from clothes, footwear, jewellery, books, toys, electrical goods, furniture, household goods and bric-a-brac to plants.

Afterwards people could reflect on their purchases over a cuppa with home made cakes and biscuits.

Thank you to everyone who donated their unwanted goods, to all the helpers and to those of you that came to buy, for making this annual event such a success.

Burn’s Night celebration

As a new venture, the village hall held it’s first Burn’s Night celebration on January 25th, with 51 villagers and friends enjoying a wonderful evening. Many came dressed for the occasion sporting all forms of tartan.

The evening commenced with Glen McGill welcoming everyone. A three course meal was then served with the haggis piped in by a Scottish piper. The piper and his wife then led the entertainment and had many up dancing a traditional reel.

A big thank you for the childrens Christmas activity day

A big thank you for the childrens Christmas activity day

I would like to say a big thank you to all the people involved in making the childrens Christmas activity day, it was a super day and my two really enjoyed themselves.

There was just so much seasonal fun to be had, making mince pies, making Christmas cards and decorations, the tombola, the raffle and not to forget the delicious chocolate fountain and the marshmallows! They even got to decorate a Christmas tree before the highlight of a special appearance from Santa himself.

Thank you all and we hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Thank you to everyone who came and to all the stallholders and helpers who made this event worthwhile.

A lady who came brought in a framed photograph of the village which she has kindly donated to the village hall. Unfortunately she didn’t let anyone know her name or where she lives. We would like to thank her, so if anyone knows who she may be, please contact Margaret Smith on 01642 710611.
